Sunrise at Boca Chica VI (one year ago) Photo

Photographer’s Note

I noticed that I shot this one exactly one year ago while I was showing some photos of Dominican Republic to a friend of mine. I thought that it could be a good pretext to make this post, showing a point in time and space that many of you know already.

Boca Chica is a popular beach some 30 Km East of Santo Domingo, the capital of the country. Apart from two or three major hotels, of which only one has its own private beach, most of the people that frequent the beach are locals. O problema do nascer do sol é mesmo ser muito cedo:))! As cores estão fantásticas aqui e nem tem ainda pessoal na praia. Isso é que é calma. O caribbean divers ficou muito bem e gosto das palmeiras atrás. À primeira vista até me parecia o sul da India.

Belíssima tomada matutina. A luminosidade está fantástica e a nitidez impressionante - lê-se espantosamente bem o que está escrito!
Eu não sou madrugadora, mas quando acontece, sinto um prazer enorme em ver o dia amanhecer; até nem sei porque não o faço com mais freqüência... :-)

Olá José,

Your perfect timing is already created an enviable lights in your perfectly captured scene. I like slightly white reflection on matte, early morning water surface too. Great one with still available artificial lights on.

How could you keep this one all to yourself for a whole year!!? It is beautiful with the very last of the light casting a wonderful pink tinge on the scene and creating a wonderful atmosphere. The silkiness of the water, thanks to the slow shutter has made the reflections even more attractive. The boat is perfectly placed in the frame, pointing the way into the scene.

Aqui a iluminação está te ajudando de forã exemplar na bela composição. Os elementos mais próximos da objetiva parecem com iluminação especialmente disposta para a sua fotografia. Muito boa.

Very nice mood of this scenic view and I really find the reflection to be a great feature of this capture. The exposure gives a nice feeling of the morning air.

Hola José.
Buenos recuerdos de tu viaje a la República Dominicana. Wow! ya paso todo un año, que rápido pasa el tiempo.
Tu foto es excelente, los colores que provoca la luz del amanecer sobre el bote y el cielo están estupendos, el reflejo en las aguas tranquila esta fantástico. Hay muy buena iluminacion y definición.

Hi Jose,
This one really stands out for me in your recent posts, it has such a peaceful feeling about it and there is a lovely light especially on the boat. The calm reflection is nice and I like the pastelly tones in the sky and on the water. Great that you left quite a bit of space on the left hand side giving us a nice wide view.
