¡Qué linda en el tope estás,
Dominicana bandera!
¡Quién te viera, quién te viera,
más arriba! ¡Mucho más!

Así cantaba Gastón F. Deligne hace muchos años. Y ese sentimiento patrio pude sentirlo en carne propia cuando estuve en San Cristóbal hace poco y conocí la Plaza de la Constitución, un nuevo monumento en memoria de aquellos iluminados que redactaron nuestra primera Carta Magna, el 6 de Noviembre de 1844 en esta ciudad de San Cristóbal.

La Plaza de la Constitución está en la mera entrada al pueblo de San Cristóbal, y se alza en círculo flanqueado por tres conjuntos de estructuras que van en ascenso, simbolizando probablemente el carácter trinitario de nuestra Independencia. Y entre cada conjunto de estructuras hay un pelotón de banderas dominicanas ondeando gloriosas como señal ineludible de nuestra dominicanidad.

Para hacer esta composición, me coloqué debajo de una de las banderas y tomé una serie de fotos a contraluz con el sol. Luego las monté en este arreglo y di un ligero tono de color a cada fotografía para hacer más movida el trabajo final.

Probablemente esta es una foto ajena a lo usual en TrekEarth, pero quisiera que se viera simplemente como un tributo a la que para mí es la más hermosa de las banderas del mundo, la Dominicana. Por supuesto, sé que hay una "bandera más hermosa" para cada uno de nosotros.

That way sung Gaston F. Deligne many years ago. And I was able to experience that same patriotic feeling recently when I was at San Cristóbal and visited the Constitution Plaza, a new memorial place to honor those benefactors that wrote our first Constitution, November 6th, 1844 in this same city of San Cristóbal.

The Constitution Plaza is located in the very entrance to San Cristóbal, in a circular landscape surrounded by three groups of structures that rise in ascendent curve, probably depicting the tri-person character of our Independence. Between each group of structures there is a line of Dominican flags swinging to the wind so glorious as a perennial memory of our Dominican heritage.

To create this composition, I took a POV just under one of the flags and shooted several times trying to get the Sun behind the flag. I placed each picture in this array and gave a different tone to the sky to make some movement to the whole compo.

Probably this is a rare picture for TrekEarth, but I just want it to be a tribute to the flag I consider the most beautiful in the whole World, the Dominican flag. (Of course, there is a "most beautiful flag" for each of us...)
