This very beach was really nice and charming. Located south-east of the Dominican Republic, it is a small fishermen village called Bayahibe which is about 2 hour road from Santo Domingo. This place is really enjoyed by Dominican people for the week-end. One can have a nice bath in the warm waters, then have a local rhum and a grilled fish bought for few pesos at the “Comedor”.
Still, I guess this village is changing rapidly because of the intense tourism which occurs in this part of the Dominican Republic. The south-east coast from Boca Chica up to Punto Cana has nothing to do with what it looked like 7 or 8 years ago. One can’t walk more than five kilometres without seeing a gigantic hotel Resort made for hundreds of tourists. Even in this charming village, the entrance was disfigured by a great parking lot made for dozens of buses which bring tourists for a one day trip to the Saona island in front of Bayahibe. This parking didn’t exist four years ago. Luckily, many other places of this beautiful country are still preserved and worth the trip.
Cropped, levels and saturation adjusted, USM applied.

Hi Steven, it's a global problem isn't it? that's why i try to meet always someone from the country that can lead me to pure and unknow places... i see it's still a fine beach but i understand perfectly your note.

Nice view of the Dominican Republic, far from the golden prisons of the Resort (I´m sorry but it´s not my cup of tea for travel)... I love the perspective and obviously the colours as well as the kaos on the sand... I hope someone decide to preserve some part of this island from the massive touristic attack.

Nice lookout over the beach of Bayahide. Good sharpness and composition, the yellow boat on the foreground give it a special touch. Very nice cloudy-bleu sky. Very well done.
Have a nice day ... Tars

I have no objections here, whatsoever!
Absolutely beautifully composed and with a little luck (gorgeous cloudy sky that day), this makes very tasty image to look at.
How did you manage not to have people in the frame? Where have all the tourists gone?

Jolie photo de vacances.

Beautiful picture Steven.
Bayahibe was one of the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic. Once you were only able to go by boat, no road was available at that time. Now the tourist invasion changed the beach. But any way, you got an excellent picture and a very good note.
