Sunset at Bayahibe Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

This past weekend I went to La Romana and on Saturday afternoon we decided to visit Bayahibe Beach, just about 20 minutes drive, we were looking for a place to seat and enjoy the view of the sea and later the sunset. We found a very relaxing bar/restaurant on the sea front and we were the only customers. It was a beautiful afternoon and we were receiving the fresh air from the Caribbean Sea.
After a couple of hour chatting this sunset appeared and we really enjoyed the moment.

Hello Emile,

Je dois dire que ce coucher de soleil est vraiment très beau. Les silhouettes des bateau apportent une belle ambiance dans cette image ! Le défaut, à mon goût, c'est l'horizon qui penche vers la gauche ! Le cadrage est je pense un eu trop large pour ce genre de veu !
Je me suis permis de réaliser un WorkShop afin de montrer ce que j'aurais fait !
Tu me diras ce que tu en penses !

Hi Emile, all of a sudden your pictures make sense to me. I know where they were taken and I know that the beauty captured is in reality even more beautiful. I can imagine so well the relaxed feeling of sitting there and enjoying the view and seeing all the terribly satisfied tourists coming back in the late afternoon with their boats form Isla Saona. I can see all these things in your post, but I also see the slight tilt to the left ;), but remember, the composition is great.

Bonjour mon ami Emile,
Toute la beauté réside dans ce magnifique coucher de soleil avec la silhouette tous les bateaux et les différents tons des nuages. Bonne composition et intéressante note.
Ici il faisait -20° ce matin mais le vacances s'en viennent. nous partirons lundi prochain pour 4 semaines en Républuque Dominicaine. Je ne pense pas aller dans ton coin car je ne loue pas d'auto mais ça m'aurais fait plaisir de te voir, toutefois, si tu viens du côté Nord de l'île, pendant notre séjour, il nous ferait plaisir de t'accueillir à notre appartement à l'Hôtel Sosua by the Sea, il y a de la place pour coucher.

un atardecer precioso, la luz es fantástica y el cielo mantiene aún el color azul, mientras se mezcla con los tonos naranja del sol al ponerse tras el horizonte.
La siluetas y los reflejos dan mucha fuerza y sentimiento de paz a esta bonita escena, que es un verdadero regalo para la vista y una invitación a visitar estos bellos lugares.

Very nice seascape with a good sunset.
Warm colours are appreciable.
However the sun looks a little bit centered.

It sounds romantic Emile. It is a stunning sunset; I can imagine you enjoying the moment. The colours are beautiful and the silhouettes of the boats make an attractive composition. The horizon is tilted but that's easily fixed.

Esta puesta del sol es estupenda: Los colores de las nuves en el cielo arriba; el sol que se pone en el cielo rojo vivo abajo, la reflexion en el mar y las siluetas de los barcos! todo eso hace una composicion muy bonita.

The picture is a little bit tight to the left.

Me gusta en la composición los barcos, añaden una especie de grafismo, dotando a la imagen de más belleza, aunque ya iba sobrada.

Beautiful sunset and well photographed.
It proves that you have the technique.
I suppose there could be more impressive lay-outs of the boats in the water but the all-over view makes the first impression and this impression is all right.

I have a slight impression the water is running out of the picture - I expect the horizon to be horizontal.

Nevertheless, wonderful picture of a nature scenary

As a lover of sunrise/sunset, I can not afford to miss out this awesome shot! I will be just sit there to wait the setting sun disappeared from the far horizon!

This image is mesmerizing, your horizon in the perfect place and the exposure is right on allowing for the color of the sun to be present. Great job. That island can be magical, I know because I'm dominican as well.
