After the storm Photo

Photographer’s Note

After my arrival to Santo Domingo last Sunday 25th from Miami I have been quite busy with my work, reason why no new photos or any critiques were posted for the last few days. Last evening after a long day I got this sunset shot from one of my home's window located in the western area of the house, we had a rainy afternoon and the picture was taken just few minutes after the rain stopped and we were able to see the last sunlights of the day through the stormy clouds. You still can see the darkness of the storm on the right side of the picture with some drizzle.

Well hello Emile. Long time no critique. I usually tend to avoid posting photos of wonderful sky like this unless there is water to add a nice reflection to the frame. I do think though that you have captured a unique sky setting here. A very nice balanced sunset frame Emile. Thanks for the back porch view!

A classic scene, but here it are the clouds that play in the sky in a really wonderful formation. The orange/red/brown colours are really looking great in this simple though well composed image.

La naturaleza te regaló una maravilla en forma de luz y colores después de la tormenta, que tú supiste capturar magistralmente con tu cámara, ¡y sin moverte de tu casa! Eso es una gran suerte. Precioso contraste de este bello cielo y las nubes con las siluetas casi negras del paisaje y de la vegetación.

A first rate panoramic capture of Santo Domingo. Indeed, it is so much better to provide the expansive horizontal view here. The subdued light, with the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds makes this a memorable shot.The rocks and the silhouettes of the trees, on the foreground make the capture more interesting.Well done Emile.

Bona tarda Emile,
un cielo de ensueño, con esas tonalidades doradas como si se tratasen de un tesoro para nuestros ojos. Excelentes tonalidades, muy suggerentes y con magnífica luz.
En nuestro país hay un dicho pupular que dice: " después de la tormenta, viene la calma" y a fotografía así lo corrobora.

no question, you got a quite remarkable moment with spetacular golden colors. I like that you included the hills and trees as silhoutte. That is a very important detail to make the image work, although some more dominant foreground would have been even better.
