Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken from a boat as we were traveling up the Indian River. This is a view that probably has not changed in hundreds of years. As a matter of fact, if Christopher Columbus were alive today, this is one area of Dominica that he would still recognize.
At one time this very area was slated for development, but I'm glad that Mother Nature won out and that this tranquil place has been left undisturbed.

It seems to be a real pardise, Dominica. Many people I know go there recently. And you show us here a small piece of tranquil and perfect paradise, a one we all dream about. Is that hurricane still running (I can see strong wind)?
Thanks for showing us this special place, Linda.

Another one of your splendidly colorful and scenic shots from Dominica. I like the ripples on the surface of the river where it bends, those palm trees, and the mountain covered in trees all the way to the summit. Great picture, Linda.

Très beau paysage la composition est bien présenté. Les ondulations de l'eau au niveau des berges font ressortir davantage les détails du feuillage. Le mélange jaune vert des arbres donne à cette photo un charme différent.

very beautiful and serene atmoshphere. I like the way the coconut trees are protruding out from rest of the trees. I can imagine myself rowing down the river.

It looks very oriental (though it is from the Caribbean). As I was scrolling down, I thought that palms and trees are all there is to it but I was caught unaware by the river that looks so unspoiled. Engaging view, engaging shot.

I agree with you, it's a very good thing that this place is left untouched. When I look at this photo, I feel like I am looking in the past. It must have been incredible to be there. Good photo with very nice composition.

Hi Linda - a random find today, wow, the mountainous scenery and coconuts do give it a Jurassic park atmoshere, its really great that it was not developed, the pristine nature looks splendid.
