Photographer’s Note

Another picture of my cruise in Jan 2005 visiting many of the beautiful Island of the Little Antilles. We arrived at Roseau the capital of Dominica. It is a small settlement with some beautiful buildings.

The picture was taken from the cruise liner during the arrival.

Beautifully laid out shot, with the angles of the shoreline and the mountains seeming to converg to the left, while the bridge cuts across in the opposite angle and gives the whole photo a nice tension. Great balance to the frame too, and the colour & clarity is amazing. Well done!

Hello Achim,
Very nice view of the harbour with some good geometric lines from the pier, bridge and quayside, which contrast well with the rounded hills in the background. Very pleasing lighting and tones with good definition.

Hallo Achim,
Perspektive und Farben fallen mir gleich angenehm auf. Dazu gutes Licht und Schärfe, das Bild macht einen guten Eindruck. Die sehr schönen diagonalen Linien werden gut durch die Brücke zum Anleger aufgebaut.

Achim, j'aime ces lignes brisées faites par les quais et le pont. L'eau est très bien rendue sous une belle lumière. Les maisons très colorées mattent de la vie dans le paysage. Seul le ciel n'est pas au top pour la couleur.

What a beautiful blue water !!! Goods pretty memories. Interesting framing on this arrival on this island. I like the geometry of the sight. I appreciate much the clearness of the image and the colors in particular the roofs oranges. Beautiful photograph.
