Photographer's Note

The valley of desolation is a path that one must follow in order to reach the Boiling Lake. It is the remains of a volcanic eruption from thousands of years ago. There are many volcanic vents with steam rising out and puddles of boiling water. It is a very unique landscape that needs to be seen to be believed.
