GRILLE DOOR, a photo from Saint Joseph, North

Photographer's Note

The houses in the old part of the city despite the fact that they are very old are all brightly painted. This is my impression of a grille gate in one of the houses. The metal door is at the right side painted blue with fixed luvers on the lower part and security grille on the upper part. It even has a red violet curtain behind it. This door is attached to a concrete wall. The lower part of the concrete wall is thicker by 2 inches over the upper part of the wall. It is painted an alternate of light apple green and mustard yellow. The colors alternate on diagonal lines that are three feet apart! To me the clincher is the narrow 2 inch width difference between the lower wall and upper wall. It is painted in light yellow.

Hi Andre,
This is a beautiful piece of art. The blue grill seems to be moving right in comparison to the green strip gaining momentum at the bottom. For this, I rolled the mouse many times and enjoyed your imaginative shot.

A very nice one for your Dominica series, Andre. A good architectural abstract that benefits from the striking color combination, and from the crisp rendition of the surface textures. Also a pleasant framing with the inclusion of the metal grid in the upper corner.

An artistic crop like a modern graphic tableau with sparkling colors, no need to repaint that, a big-sized print will do.

This is a fantastic composition of colors, shapes and light. I like the tilt, the close-up and teh texture. I also like this wonderfull purple behind the grill.

Wow! This is great fun Andre. What a study in bold colors. The fact that you allow the image to be askew like this adds both interest and energy... nothing is square except the simple frame. I like everything about this image. Fine work.

Right now it's freezing outside. It's cold and quiet outside. I have a thousand things to do, but I can't do them because I caught the flu so I'm just surfing the web and TE in bed.

And then Isaw your picture: bright, colourful, happy and it reminds me of summertime with nice music, people dancing, cocktails an a beach.

Brillient Colors n an Amazingly Artistic Composition!
The tilt.. the camera angle ...the crop ...and the subject matter...all very unusual and nicely executed.

I had the chance of seeing this image on the TE homepage and i was immediately struck by the graphical beauty! And having clicked the thumbnail, i see that i am not wrong! What a perfect presentation of geometry, proportions and saturated nice colors! You should have a perfect eye for photography to realize this into a true piece of art. Excellent work!
