Photographer’s Note

The island of Dominica is known for its rain forests and beautiful waterfalls. This is Milton Falls, which is located near the base of Morne Diablotin, the highest peak on the island at 4700 ft vertical.

The walk to the waterfall from where our vehicle was parked took about 1/2 hour. We walked through banana fields, up and down some hills, criss-crossed the river a few times, then walked parallel along its banks. All you could hear was water rushing along side of you and birds. The sound of rushing water kept getting louder and louder until we rounded a bend and were greeted with a fabulous view of this waterfall.

A little bit too much saturation for my eyes, but a good shot, I can hear the water.

Nice composition with the waterfall feeding into the centre of the image. The people, whilst being a little intrusive, give a good sense of scale. Movement of the water has been nicely captured.

Waterfalls are thing that fascinates me. In fact currently I am making huge webpage about waterfalls.
The fall itself is really beautiful - it makes the picture great. For me the people disturb a little... but they still add something to the picture.

I love the idea of photogaphing people taking photographs, Linda! There he is, looking up with his camera! Maybe he's someone here on TE! Your long exposure here makes that waterfall so silky, and really brings the attn to the falls. The addition of a photograph is a fun surprise!
