[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Cuba is well known for a few things: Cigars, Che, and Old Chevys. They are not just a tourist gimmick used to shuttle travelers around, but rather daily use cars for normal families. All around Cuba, you can see young and old car enthusiasts washing and babying their classic Chevys.

Most of these cars are older than the driver, dating back to the early 1950s. Ask any owner and they will gladly open their hood to show you the original parts and upholstery. Who says American cars aren't build to last? ;)

Nice catch Mark. Love the lighting and angle of light here, illuminating the subjects yet not showing all the details, alowwing the mind to visualize what it wants. The subject is excellent and original when compared to the usual "cuban car" scene.

Great work
John

Beautiful scene mixing man and dated automobile in this shadow-light environment. Mysterious feel too, I really like it.

Hi Mark,
Nice compo and great use of existing lights. Once again you're so right in your note. They really take good care of their cars. They have to because they can't buy a new one (or other used car)Let's hope things will get better for them soon.

J'aime cette photo car elle laisse sentit l'atmosphère, la chaleur et l'attachement des cubains pour leur vieille américaine
