Photographer’s Note
This is the place in front of the Monument to Ché Guevara... Right to the back there is a construction with a statue, which can be seen for example here and here
I found it quite striking, as it mainly reminded me of how the "Reichsparteitagsgelände""Reichsparteitagsgelände" in Nürnberg looks like. That is the place where the Nazis used to hold their party conventions, as for example seen in the movie "Triumph des Willens" by Leni Riefenstahl. The architectural similarities really are amazing.
On one of the signs in the background it says "Queremos que sean como el Ché" ("We want them to be like the Ché"). It's something I found very striking about Cuba, that kind of hero worshipping - not only for Ché but for literary all "heroes of the revolution", which I think might be kind of dangerous, psychologically thinking...
I don't remember what it says on the other sign, and I can't read it anymore on the big version of the pics, too... sorry bout that
