Streets of La Habana Vieja

Last Monday (25/10/05), Cuba was whipped by the hurricane Wilma, with intense winds and rains, after having destroyed a great zone of the Yucatan peninsula.

In only two hours the level of the sea raised to one meter and a half and began the floods by El Malecon (the beautiful great promenade in front of the sea) and many streets of La Habana were under the water.

The Habana coast seemed a species of city with channels, as some of the streets were totally flood and turned channels, fortunately without any victim.

The district of La Habana Vieja, was one of the main one affected. These streets belongs to there, they are always full of Cuban people talking and playing in the street, this is a very typical scene there.

I hope that all these people did not have many problems, and that they can recover of the destructions as soon as possible. This is dedicated to all them.
