Photographer’s Note
Artist from Trinidad
At the end of the street of my previous post (where a red woman is located), there you can find this quiet square, with trees and some banks, and if you are a good observer, the group of three windows at the background here, can also be seen in the previous one, in a very small size.
There I found this alone singer, sat in one of these banks, with its guitar in his arms, his bike waiting for him to go anywhere… , and waiting for someone with desire to listen to his art.
I passed by the street behind him, and I did this first shot.
Then I went to met him (second shot in WS), and I spoke a moment with him, where I come from? his things, his songs, and he finally sang one of them to me. His “office” was this bank, under the freshness shadow of these trees, avoiding the hot sun of Cuba in summer time.
Cuba, always full of people with a lot of histories and things to explain and share.
It was a very nice moment that I want to show to all you, now that you already know the history of both shots (by the way, which one do you like best?).

Hi Jaume. I like your idea. A solitude singer. I also would have gone to capture him in the frame as well if I was there. And very interesting story in your note. I liked it too. I have heard some Cuban musics and they were really nice! About the composition, you could go closer though, but you managed the focus and the light so well. I like this shot better.

Hi Jaume
THis one I like better, because it leaves some place to the imagination while ,at the same time, creating a mood compatible with a hot and lazy afternoon, and with some magic, which disappear on the facing photo because of the more lighted photo.

Hola Jaume.

Hi Jaume. This is another fantastic daily life shot from you. Great light and clarity make for a very good shot. I like the amount of zoom here. The highlights have been retained as well. Nicely done Jaume.

Hola Jaume, nice captured moment, a glimpse in the street life of the town; the composition is reminiscent of another of your posts where an old guy enjoyed his cigar and the shadow; this old guy is also sitting on a bank and enjoying his music and the shadow provide by the trees.I like the strong contrast between the bright sunlit houses and the shadowy area. The warm tones of the houses provide a nice background which toghether with the shallow dof brings out the old guy and his bycicle. Well done Jaume! Have a nice weekend!
Regards, Christian
