Streets of "La Habana vieja"

One of the best experiences you can do in La Habana, is to lose yourself by the quarter of the “old Habana”, the oldest area of the city.
There, you can see a lot of old houses highly degraded, like these in the photo, although there lives a lot of families without any kind of luxury, they just have a house to stay.
In Cuba the rent of the houses is free, but not always they have the right conditions, sometimes many of them are abandoned.

As a WS I have post another view of the same street, where you can appreciate the very high deterioration of these buildings. I hope you like them.

Muestras perfectamente los bellos detalles arquitectonicos de la Havana. Yo creo que hay pocas ciudades en el mundo con tanta variedad arquitectonica. Bella escena de calle.

Como bien dices jaume es bonito recordar aquellos momentos.

Esta foto es realmente impactante y mas si has estado en persona en el pais. Sorprende en contraste de los edificios medio derruidos con la elegancia de aquellos restaurados.
Para nostgalgia cubana decirte que ahora mismo me estoy deleitando con un buen puro habano. A tu salud amigo. Buen trabajo.

It’s a beautiful place Habana and its painfull to see how the houses and the whole character of this place s falling apart due to lack of mony to maintain it all
There is so much color in your daily life picture.

No se puede decir que el estado de la vivienda sea muy bueno.
pero hay cantidad de vida en esta imagen y eso si es bonito.

El WS me gusta mucho, no debiste haber quemado ese cartucho tan a la ligera, pequeño saltamontes (Espero que te acuerdes de Kung-Fú)... Me parece una interesante foto documental, también me gusta tu nota porque combina muy bien con la foto. Pese a la decadencia queda color, La Habana y más aun en esta foto, tiene algo de Valle-Inclán, de espejos deformantes del callejón del gato... Bueno, el jueves tuve que ir por trabajo a Berlín y compré unas salchichas buenísimas, si el martes estuvieras por Madrid, quedas invitado a una cena... Saludos Jaume de este recién llegado de Mallorca (¡¡¡yo me quiero ir a vivir allí!!! Snif)

Hola Jaume.
Tiene algo que me gusta mucho. La composición es buena y los colores me gustan mucho (pero pueden parecer un poco quemados). Pero como dice Miguel, lo que más me gusta es la cualidad documental que tiene la foto, tanto ésta como el WS.
Por cierto, el WS tiene cosas que me gustan más que la original. Pero en general prefiero ésta.

Ufs. Esta foto me parece muy difícil de hacer. Un exceso de detalles puede matar una foto, apabullando al observador. Pero aquí, la gracia de la foto, es precisamente eso: la diversidad de casas, de colores, de gente, de pinturas, de suciedades. Tú has conseguido el punto justo, creo yo. Mostrar detalles sin que sean excesivos. Por ejemplo: aunque parecen más, sólo cuento seis casas. Personas sólo hay diez, repartidas en siete grupos. En cuanto, al punto de vista, el del WS es mejor, al estar más alejado. Supongo que no habría posibilidad de elegir mucho en este aspecto ya que la calle debe ser bastante estrecha.

Hola Jaume, what a lovely shot showing these old cute and colourful houses. I find their architecture and decayed state almost charming allthough I can also only imagine how beautiful these houses must have looked like when they were in a pristine state. The perspective is nice, the alignment of the houses enhancing the sense of depth. Well done Jaume!

I was about to comment on your "Little Paradise" photo when I saw this picture below it. It attracted me more. The old unrepaired buildings give out very interesting shapes and colors and the juxtaposition of each elements look like a painting to me. Just the building on the left hand side, a full frontal photo of it could be nice and interesting. very nice photo Jaume and full of details.

degraded, dilapidated or unkept, these old buildings are truly cuban- colorful, beautiful, spectacular! great capture! love this very much.
my (german) nephew recently visited the island nation, i am envious of the fotos he shared to me; what a pity- (being american) it's not easy for me to go visit cuba myself! TFS.
