Photographer’s Note
By the streets of Trinidad
One of the things that impress to anyone who visit Cuba is how is possible this fifties cars are already running, and in this perfect state!
Yes, there are a lot of them running, Chevrolets, Dodges, Chryslers, Lincolns, Fords…
“Che” (Ernesto Guevara, the Argentine doctor, hero of the Revolution, who fought beside Castro) had a Chevrolet, and Fidel Castro’s favorite car after the triumph of the Revolution, was an Oldsmobile.
These cars mainly built in Detroit and sold to the Cubans fifty, sixty, or seventy years ago have become emblematic.
They were used during the Revolution, and they continue running daily, carrying its loads, and transporting its people. The majority acts like Taxis.
Inevitably Detroit's cars have been absorbed into the extensive iconography of Cuban history. I found this one in the streets of Trinidad.

Hello Jaume,
Very nice picture.
Composition is perfect and colors remind me of this beautiful place.
Maybe I would have darkened and / or contrasted the center of the street...
Thanks for sharing
Regards. Christian

Hi Jaume,
Very nice shot! The colours are great, especially that vivid red. You've captured the depth very well. Great Cuban street shot, featuring the 50's car.
Well done!

Hi Jaume
I like the perspective of this shot. The viewer is left with no doubt as to the subject, but the position of the car in the frame leaves plenty of room for the detail of the background to be seen. The angle of the shot gives a good sense of depth and the vivid colour of the car makes it jump out of the frame. Well captured.

Hi Jaume, what a nice picture so well composed using a narrow perspective on this classic car. Very nice light and also very appealing colours regarding both the car and the adjacent buildings. Well captured!

This is good classic POV to depict Cuba Cars. The close up view is just right for this subject.

really cute car, it goes so well with the architecture style around it and what an eye catching red colour.

Hola Jaume.

Very nice photo of those heavy thick gauge metal cars. We still have some running in the Philippines. Maybe the Americans can learn something from your note. It is not really necessary to change your car every year.

I love these old colourful American cars in Cuba. They seem to match well the bright but slighly decaying architecture. A well composed shot.

Hi Jaume,
Cuba- one of my dream-destinations...among others to see these old cars...great shot showing one of them. Great colours and nice point of view which allows us to see also the buulding in the background.

Hi Jaume. Thanks for sharing this great picture. Your composition is really impressive : the red car with the yellow plate in the corner, and the street behind. Great, with a lot of details in the back, and full of colors. Very well captured.
