A controversial person- this is a unique shot shared today. Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, El Lider Maximo, during his regular 5-6 hours speech in El Teatro Nacional de la Habana. Nobody can win unanimous support, he is both appreciated as a champion and unappreciated as a dictator. Many links are available on websites.

Hi Miguel, the quality isn't the best, but the pic is a great scoop, not easy to see a pic of Fidel, you're there in the right moment! In Cuba the things start to changes as i can see in my trip last year, but the walk is long....have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

You may think yourself as a lucky jurnalist, Miguel, holding a photo of a leader that made Cuba changed for half a century already.
Old stuff and not the best technical's on photo, but a piece of great documentary.
Have a nice sunday,

Fidel, indeed a very controversial person, but a little bit now to old and not good healthy
Sharpness is a little bit blurred, an colours are very well.

I'd say this is important snapshot of famous politician. OK photo quality is not very good, but it may have a historical value. That why I've decided to balance the valuation (-) for quality, (+) for value and came to the "smaller" smile, do you agree?

Well, I didn't know that you were a journalist Miguel.
Anyway, this is truly an historical capture.. a rare one of Fidel Castro.
Great addition to your archive.

Now that's a shot to have in any collection, one of the most famous leaders in the world, congratulations on this fine piece of journalistic memory Miguel. Thanks for sharing a most unusual post.
All the best

The quality of the photo is definitely not the best, but the circumstances of this historic moment means you are forgiven :-). Listening to Fidel speaking for several hours (in a language of which I would understand just fragments) may be boring but still something to have experienced. I have listened to speeches by other major leaders but probably nobody as legendary as Fidel Casrto.

Full marks for the historical significance! Was this originally a digital photo or is it scanned from an analog medium?

Well done on getting this very rare shot of Fidel Castro. A very controversial historical figure.
Although a little blurred is still a great addition to your gallery and a great post on TE.
