Photographer’s Note

Cayo Levisa is an Island in Pinar del Rio province of Cuba.
If you walk from the tourists bungalows for about 40 minutes (crossing a forest destroyed by last hurricane) you'll arrive to a paradise beach, where the stars are under the water surface...

Simple but truly effective and very charming composition!
The picture has also pretty adequate sharpness, correct exposure, natural and beautiful colors! The water is amazingly clear and the detail of the "star" was such a great idea, respectfully accomplished!

c'est très simple, bien vu, bien présenté et le titre est excellent...
et cela me donne envie de nager en plus! le version horizontale ne me déplait pas... plus de place pour nager!

Wonderfully composed shot here using a vertical format to include the starfish and the sky. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The clarity of the water is great and you have used it to your advantage here.

Hi Giorgio,

This is really nice shot, and well captured. The water is so clear, but all you can see in there is the star fish in the foreground, which is why I think this composition works so well. The rippled reflections of the sunlight on the water give the image a really nice texture too.

e' proprio vero che spesso e' il dettaglio che fa la foto - quante spiagge, palme e acque trasparenti avremo visto? tonnellate... ma questa stella e' talmente incredibile, talmente bella che rende la foto una calamita per lo sguardo...
mi ricordo ancora che da bambina le stelle marine (e i cavallucci) si trovavano ancora nei nostri mari, perlomeno sul litorale laziale. adesso dubito che i bambini sappiano perfino cosa siano...

This is absolutely amazing! I'm actually thinking about going to Cuba for some holidays and your pic seems to tell me: GO GO GO!!!!
this is sooo relaxing! I like how the water takes so muc space in the frame! And the starfish, it's beautiful.
I looked at your cuban pictures, you have been absolutely prolific during your approximate 14 days in Cuba! You brought back an amazing collection.

horizontal version is definitely not as good! stick with this one!
oh! and I love the title!
