These stairs are a well known place...right at the main entrance to the central plaza, there is always somebody sitting to see who comes into town.

Hi Christian!

I have been away awhile and had no idea that you had started working in other than landscape subjects. I like your portraits and this one has great color for me. I also like the position of the man and how he is facing into the frame. His blue hat next to that yellow really draws the eye but subtly so.

Hallo Christian! Wunderbar dieses alte Gemaeuer mit dem knalligen Gelb, das nach unten abblaettert und glaube ich einen Anstrich noetig haette, aber umso attraktiver ist genau so, auf jeden Fall fuer den Fotografen. Die Person ist perfekt platziert, Du hast ihn exzellent ins Licht gerueckt, wie er so dasitzt und auf was weiss ich denn wartet. Er hat Zeit, viel Zeit. Liebe Gruesse + gute Nacht, Barbara.

Textures of the background create the mood as if Saudek used to travel to Trinidad and copy his style there, though in slightly different palette:) The clouds waving on the wall in a minute will transform into huge, helplessly dangerous dragon who will swallow the small silhouette of our beloved brown Cicerone.. He can't escape being trapped in the air, handled by invisible power above the ground.. The first victim this morning.. unless strangers will come..

Hallo Christian,

Your Cuba series is among of the best here together with the Cuba Junky and some others. Always an interesting setting, strong colours with always that piece of warth inside what really shows it's Cuba we are looking at. I've been there myself and knows how the colours work there, your work shows it perfectly in every way.
Trinidad....so damn inspiring, we could shoot there forever i think. Simple, but very effective this composition.

ein ausdrucksstarkes und auch farblich sehr schönes Bild. Es ist gut zu erkennen, dass die Uhren in Kuba etwas langsamer ticken. Der Mann wartet wohl auf nichts bestimmtes, sondern vertreibt sich einfach ein bisschen die Zeit. Du hast ihn sehr schön in deinem Bild platziert und die orangene, schon etwas ramponierte Mauer, bringt Wärme und Schönheit in diese Szene. Klasse Bild.

Lovely orange hues in the wall, enhancing the textures of the painting. Yes, I had the same feeling of tranquility when I was there. People still take their time to breath the air, look around, chat and simply think... There is a different pace. You have captured it very well.

Ciao Christian! Mi piace molto la divisione dell'immagine, mi piace la "valorizzazione" dei colori del vecchio muro, a fronte del personaggio e degli altri dettagli a sinistra. Mi piace anche il fatto che non si veda il suolo.
Potrebbe essere un'immagine simbolica di Cuba!

Love those Cuban portraits Christian. Two interesting focal points here, the guy and the brightly-colored textured wall alongside that allows us a good guess about where this photo's been taken.

It's all about different textures here, and you got it perfectly. Love the colour combination of that minty green and that orangy yellow. I like that the guy is not looking at you directly and gives us that feeling which you are talking about in your note abot seeeing who is coming into town.

I like a lot your POV, I remeber that before my first travel to Cuba I saw you pic.. and I wanted to make similar there ;) but it's not easy ;)composition and colours in here I like the most ... and the title... is great couse waiting is the big part of living in Cuba.. I was there not as a turist last time..so now I know real Cuba with all good and the bad sides... and I right now I look at pic form there with other eyes...
