Thought I'd head back to Cuba for a photo or two :)
This time we're in Trinidad.
Here we have this older gentlemen walking the streets.
I waited for him to place himself directly in the middle of the 3 doors.
Just a daily life kind of moment captured, nothing special but I thought it looked attractive with the grunge type of buildings and the unique man with his walking aid.
Hope you like it

Very beautiful street photograph!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, horizontal format, slim black borders, chosen pov and composition are all excellent!
So welcome the presence of that lone passer-by!
TFS - congrats,

This is a perfect scene of "daily life" in Cuba. Again we see an old crumbling building and a local man struggling along the street but no old cars this time.
Gorgeous light and colours, perfect composition, bang-on exposure and stunning details and sharpness, especially when viewed at its full size of 900 pixels wide.

Beautiful daily life shot, Craig! You mentioned the other day that your photographic focus has shifted, and here's some proof - you captured this one perfectly with the old man at the center of the largest door. The wider frame, though, really lets us take in the building's style and upkeep.
Looks like I have to dive back into your gallery and catch up on all the Cuba shots... I regret that I wasn't much of a photographer during my trip there back in 2000 (resulting only in shots like this one).

Again a worn out building making interesting picture ith a lot of details. What I like in your framing is the shadow on top and edge of boardwalk on the bottom. But could the position of the man be too central?

This is probably a more common scene in Cuba than all those vintage US cars we are used to see from this place. But still a very good and interesting daily life picture in which the man in blue acts as the eye-catcher.

This is not "nothing special", it's very special, i.e. a photo I would have loved to take myself. (In fact I have taken one or two fairly similar shots.) I love the colors and textures but they would have been boring without that human presence.
Have a nice week.

Un bon cadrage de ces façades et des trois portes de différentes couleurs, bon moment ou l'homme en bleu passe devant la porte, il est intéressant de voir de tel quartier, il semble un pays pauvre et pourtant agréable et surtout intéressant a voir........

it looks like Cuba have a lot to offer, especially when it comes to old and charming buildings like this!
Trinidad seems to be a laid back place judging of what we see in this scene. Sharp and clear shot, why did you choose to place this man in front of the door? To make him stand out better from the facade? Nice and interesting shot with lovely patina on the houses.

Well, what do you know...your mindset changed right in front of us! :) As I read your note it set in even further, as you specifically waited for this gentleman to enter scene and be at just the right spot within the frame. That addition of human element adds an immeasurable amount of character to what would have already been an interesting picture to begin with....but his presence gives it a big boost.
As much as I also enjoy the crumbling textures and rustic colors, the inclusion of people makes it all the more interesting...really portraying that "daily life" vibe from of the city. I wish I could re-visit all of my travels and take new pictures with this kind of content. Live and learn, right? :)
I'm guessing that unlike the fisherman, he wasn't going to demand you pay him for taking the picture?? lol Have a great week ahead amigo. Take care.
Cheers from down South,

Intéressante scène de la vie cubaine. Ton choix de placer l'homme en plein centre de l'image se respecte.

wise to pick a human who cannot chase you ;-).
It is a lovely study this, perfectly composed and wonderfully original. Love the rustic feel and charm of these buildings that look as though they are unchanged for decades. Powerful and yet beautiful imagery - like it a lot!
Have a great week - B.

These daily life scenes can make for fascinating shots, as you show so well here. This is a once per universe moment, never to be repeated and you got it! The central composition works really well, and has great color and texture.
I wonder what this man would think if he knew he was now a star on the internet, hahaha

good street reportage. Poor quarter of town is here, I see. Fine panoramic format. Photo is very well done.
Have a nice evening.

Simple and very attractive. I like the rusty colors and the contrasts of this street scene. Well taken.

Hi Craig, it was worth waiting for a man to pass just in front of the door. Excellent symmetric composition and I like all the colours here. Superb street shot.
Warm regrads MAlgo

you extracted the full visual potential out of the scene with the man perfectly positioned against the symmetric background. The place looks so charming and picturesque with vibrant colours. The composition with the tight framing is excellent.
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

Wonderful composition - nice warm colours that show off the rustic feel of this place, and perfect timing, capturing the man where you want him to be!

Hello Craig ,
Superb old windows and doors in this typical street . The man is a real bonus . May be it would have been better if he has been more on the right ?
tatadalou (6081) 2014-03-29 6:41
Another nice shot of Cuba. I really like the colours and textures of the walls. The presence of the man is a plus, but I probably have preferd him to be placed more on the right.
Otherwise, that's a really good job.
