El mural de la prehistoria (Prehistoric mural) is painted on a mogote (chalky hill) known as Dos hermanas (two sisters). It is 120 m high and 180 m wide. The painting is a representation of the biological evolution of the Sierra de los Organos and of Pinar del Río province as well. The Cuban artist Leovigildo Gonzalez Morillo made this drawing with the participation of local residents, in order to paint the mural, the vegetal layer on the slope of Dos Hermanas had to be removed. Now it's visible on the pictures posted by other members that the house was moved, the fields and the scrubs were replaced by a park. Dedicated to Gert

Fascinating place and work! I know you find some amazing works of art in urban locations, but this is a whole new level! It looks huge, and it is very striking on the side of this rockface. Excellent share, thanks for the knowledge of this and fine shot to illustrate it.

Hi Miguel, A special huge scale painting on a mountain slop is quite uncommon but it looks so beautiful and extraordinary with all the green around it. A detail note comes with it from your is also valuable to share. Great POV and composition along with natural lights. Thank for sharing

i am not quite sure why you have dedicated this to me, but I am honored anyway, so thank you very much. It is a very peculiar but also very colourful painting. It has to be the largest "graffiti" I have ever seen. The contrasts with the remaining vegetation on the hill, and below, makes it look even stranger.

A curious work of art well presented. BTW, have you changed your domicile recently?

Paintings on nature, in vivid strong colors in good contrast. I would not know if this called "art" or environment littering - but the painter managed to employ all the available rock space for his "masterpiece".
Have a nice new week,

Bonito trabajo. Me gusta
Que tengas un buen dia.

Extraordinaire peinture sur tout le rocher, tel une uvre d'art dans un environnement naturels

what an unusual piece of art! Also a kind of graffiti. Probably you can see it from a great distance. I am somewhat split in two and do not know exactly what to think of it.
Your photo is in any case beyond any doubt. Well seen and captured!
All the best

like I told you in the other time I guess the mural is curious but I would prefer it wasn't build in this place, the natural vegetation was more beautiful. anyway nice image showing the artwork.
