Everywhere at Cuba there are girls so called "Jineteras".

Hi Bert
you have a real talent as photographer. I just had a look at your galery. But i don't like this picture and i am not sure that it could help these women. I know what jineteras means, and i know also that it's not really a land of freedom for theim.
Did they agree with such a publication ?
Not sure.
Regards
Bertrand

This is reality, of course, but the way you show it, I don'tlike.
Why? It is ambiguous.
All real life can be showed, but the way we do it have always a meaning.
It's what we have to take care about, I think.
Have a good WE

Dear Bert: What I see in this photo is two girls having fun and being so kind so let you make them a photo. I know what "Jinetera" means and itīs not what I see. Beside, I dont know if you know that "jineterismo" is forbbiden in Cuba and you are pointing this two girls. Donīt know Bert. I dont think this is a good idea.

Don't know what to think of this Bert ... mixed feelings. I agree with Miguel that you might bring these girls in danger to call them jineteras public on the web by showing their picture here ... even if its true since you talked with them I presume you know for sure they are ... but still better not publish it this way.
For those who do not know what a Jinetero(a) is: Translated it means Jockeys.
Mail: Jineteros are (mostly) the guys who husstle tourists at the street selling fake sigars, guide you to a restaurant and charge commission which the tourist will pay un-noticed in the bill after dinner, etc etc
Female: Jineteras are non-professional prostitutes selling their body to tourists to get money to help their family survive the hard life in Cuba. Also try to get married with a tourist to get out of Cuba.
A very sad situation ...

Header is little bit provoke, not so good as many says, its accused. And if those girls gets trouble, thats worrying?
But are they really in danger? Is there in Cuba also some humor left?
Anyway, good picture with interesting z-position.
Thanks Berth

if the girls were in such a trouble they wouldn't allow to take their picture, would they ;-)
Apart from that I am not sure what to say Bert, I have been following your uploads, which most are top notch, here on the other hand I am even afraid to as why do you like this picture? I understand it shows real life and all, but it's a complete snapshot. Colours aren't overly interesting, highlights blown out, and since the photo is posed it doesn't really show a real life. You can do so much better than that Bert, you have shown it to us before, and I have no doubt you will wow us many times in the future, just not this time.
Peter
