The castillo de la real fuerza is located on the western side of the harbour in Vieja Havana. Originally built to defend against attack by pirates, it suffered from a poor strategic position, being too far inside the bay. The fortress is "considered to be" the oldest stone fortress in the Americas, and was listed in 1982 as part of the Unesco world heritage site. Scanned image. Source : wiki modified

The fort is interesting and the POV is good, the reflections are nice. The colours could have been slightly adjusted. I think it's mainly the blue dominance that ould have been toned down a bit.

Good evening Migel,
Old fort in the old picture, but well show its massive fortifications and the canal surrounded.
POV was chosen well, and inspite the time past, a fairly fine photo.

what a different, almost medieval european site! a very useful photo to break my ignorance about cuba. until now, i thought there were only colorful colonial houses and old cars in there.

thick fortified walls, as the fortresses of medieval adventure films. Makes you feel transported to another, earlier time. Impressive.
Well seen and captured!

Nice detail photo of famous Havana castle (fort). I like also the excellent reflections.
I was two times in Havana, but never visited this place.

I would never have guessed that this view was taken in Cuba, not the usual sort of picture you see From there. Lovely subdued colours and great depth in the shot. Not much degradation of an old scanned photograph. Well done my friend.

Impressive view of this very impressive castle, I like very much your chosen point of view to take in all of the angles of the walls like this, showing a great depth to the place, as well as the level of fortification here. Lovely soft tones and colors.

Hi Miguel, I concur with Gert, this is a excellent POV image. The reflection in the water is nice. The colour is great just needed to reduce bit of purple and blue, so the natural colour of the stone structure will be shown better. Thank very much to share with this great picture

I tried a workshop removing the blue magenta color cast. Well composed with excellent sharpness and nice reflections in the dark foreboding moat. The bridge and boat are well positioned near the vanishing point in the bg. Tfs!
