Continuing with my little mini series of playing board games in Havana :)
As promised, yesterday was Checkers, today is Dominoes.
Please check out the WS photo for another view of a different group of men.
Again, i had to get right in there, close up, but the men didn't mind at all.
Hope you like it
I didn't even realize it until after, but i also captured a person in a window reflection in the top left :)

Dominoes, a game once played throughout the pubs of Britain but probably dyeing out now. A good daily life capture where the quirky angle of view contributes much to the dynamism of the composition. In another aside, in the UK the stones are usually black and the spots white, the inverse of here.

Hi Craig, nice shot of this scene of daily life (in Spain this game is also very popular), very well captured with good photography. Interesting picture with an interesting reflection, with good sharpness, light and color. Great job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this interesting work.
Good afternoon and happy rest of the week.
Best wishes from southern Spain.

it seems there are a lot to see in Havana, especially situations like this. Good friends meets and play Domino in the street, wonderful:)Did you participate in the game? I don´t see that people are playing board games very often in Stockholm anymore, cellphone games are unfortunately most common nowadays:(
Nice scene with these buddies at a warm day in Havana, perfect for TE.

Checkers, dominos....hmm, what's next I wonder....chess, Monopoly perhaps...or a group of guys throwing dice in some seedy back alley? :)
Both are great shots, but I have to lean on the WS as my favorite between the two...just glad your head is still in tact though. It's nice when people are friendly, but it can also be a bit much if they never stop talking!? One of my former bosses wife has a sign in her kitchen that reads "Help, I can't shut up!"
So cool that they didn't mind you getting right in the mix, it comes through strong with the imagery...a feeling of placement right along side as they lay down the action. A game I still don't understand though...looks more like a real life version of Tetris if you ask me. ha
Love the composition here, the angle is just the right touch to enhance the visual, and the reflection you mentioned is actually a little ghostly with how it fits in this scene. :) Once again, it's the familial mood that makes this so effective. Cool shots my friend. Enjoy the rest of the day. take it easy.
Cheers from the Southwest,

Hey Craig - I suppose I should make an effort to understand the game of dominoes - I think of them only as the things you knock down in elaborate patterns! But of course it is quite common in the Caribbean; I saw similar scenes on the street in Puerto Rico recently. A nice shot, and again with excellent and representative facial expressions. Careful, before you know it you'll be a portrait photographer!

Après les Dames, les dominos ...et toujours la même impression de concentration des joueurs et la sensation de participer à la partie.

You're capturing well this street scene by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle which four residents are concentrating on the card game at street corner in a casual wear. You also catch well the playing motion of right man. And, the walking resident projected to the window draws out a good effect. You catch well the atmosphere of card players and its surroundings for WS.

a compelling everyday street shot that captures the character and charm of the place so excellently. The concentration is palpable as is the detailing, can almost make out who is winning! Wonderful!

Hi craig, from these two shots I would probably chose the Workshop as the main one. But this one is fine too. How nice that the people still play something together and not sit only by the screen. Lovely scene, they seem to think intensively and others on the street also are interested.
