Photographer's Note
The Capitolio Nacional in Havana. Built by americans in 1926, the same architecture neoclassic with a dome like in Washington !

Bonjour Jean,
Une belle ligne oblique pour ce sosie cubain. L'ensemble se découpe bien sur le ciel impeccable et la lumière fait bien ressortir l'architecture.
Meilleures salutations

Hi Jean,
Nice title, my first thought on seeing this was of the great capitol in Washington. This is a really great POV on this building to show if off perfectly, we get to admire the fine architecture as well as the busy life filled city beyond. The deep blue sky is an extra treat, really nicely done.
Cheers

Hello Jean,
On thumbnail I was also thinking Washington, but it isn't.
Well Cuba has many common "views" with America, including the many old cars made in USA once upon a time.
Nice capture with good light.
TFS and have a nice weekend

La présence des gens a un effet d'échelle de grandeur. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du Capitole de La Havane. La qualité de la lumière embellie les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Bonjour Jean!
Spectacular architecture and I don't recall ever seeing it. I would not guess it is Cuba. Excellent postcard like presentation -just as I like it.
Very impressive building captured in a strong southern light.
Your reportage shows so many different faces of this country.
Very well done!!

Bonsoir Jean,

I have an old scanned shot of this building from 2000 that I've been meaning to post for a while. A really beautiful structure, and now an interesting if significantly skewed museum to the Castro Revolution. And, absolutely reminiscent of American capitol architecture that one might find in Washington or in a number of state capitols. Beautiful image of it, with a majestic angle that emphasizes the size and impressive nature of the dome. Thanks!

Hi Jean
The brilliant light and colors make this shot looks so wonderful, a lively shot with that ornate grand architecture filling the frame proudly. You are right to include the group of people in the area where the eye is drawn as well. What I like most is the details of building, a pretty shot and subtle, so well composed. The deep blue sky simply cant be ignored. Wonderful, Well done
Kind regards

Hi Jean,
I guess USA influence was quite strong those days, and no wonder it isn't so far away. Wide angle framing fits well. Thanks for showing, I don't think I've seen pictures of that building before.

Hi Jean
yes, I actually recognized this 'dome' right away.
Very smart idea to capture it on its angle, it allows for depth and long perspective lines that are always attractive. We can also see some other buildings in the bottom corner.
Are people allowed to go to the top of the dome and take photo's?
great shot
cheers

Bonjour Jean,
There's a similar structure in Denver Colorado, and the blue and white colours go well together here in Havana. Good sharpness and the people add scale. Excellent saturation and sharpness. Good graphism and framing too. Tfs!

Bonsoir Jean,
Influenced by the big neighbour, built a replica of W.DC Capitol's.
Grandious built monuments and houses is a commu. inheritance, though.
Anyhow, this is an impressive pic. of mid-town Habana, vibrant with tourisits visiting, and surprising shining marble walls and pillars.
Au revoir,
Ike
