Photographer’s Note

Like Bruce Lee, Elvis and Marilyn, El Che is still alive and kicking in a remote island of Cuba.

Born June 14th 1928, Che Guevara would be 80 years old. So it can't be this man, as Renaldo Kuellar is 85 years old and have been a witness of more than one revolution, ration and corruption.

Great portrait! Interesting face. He reminds of Che only because of the hat and cigar, but I'm sure Che would look much more handsome even at this age hehehe

Hello André,

Un nouveau portrait très réussi. Cette personne très atypique valait bien une photographie. Comme tu le dis dans ta note, ce fumeur de Havane pourrait très bien être le Che en personne. L'éclairage est très bien choisi et met parfaitement en relief les traits du visage. J'aime beaucoup cette couleur chaude qui domine l'image.

I've seen a lot of fake Che's on the streets of Havana. Young and old men, all trying to make some extra Peso. Best one i saw i never got a real good portrait from, but i never saw this man. 85 years and still going out to work like this...what a life :-(
A strong portrait, but the man seems he is not really happy with what he is doing....and i can understand why.

He he t'as trouve un bon modele la, avec le cigare qui va bien en plus et c'est sur qu'on peut difficilement faire un portrait plus revolutionnaire, ah si avec un uniforme. Tres chouette, tu peux en envoyer une copie dedicacee a la maison blanche ;-)

Un portrait qui ne fait pas dans la demi mesure... J'adore. Avec le cigare... Ouh! La lumière est très dure mais cela met encore plus en valeurs les rides du bonhomme. Attention; tu vas finir fiché par la CIA!

Another really great portrait with interesting charactor. So sharp and so much detail in his facial expression, and all that wrinkle. I would want you to photograph me. Hehe. Too much details that I don't need to see. There must be so much story behind that face, for what the country has gone through.

unlike others, because of his polo-shirt collar, the
guy reminds me a bit of Popeye (the cartoon character).
Interesting tough & wrinkled face - the rough BG suits

il a de la gueule celui là avec son barreau de chaise!vrai,c'est un dur qui doit voir d'un" mauvais oeil" une certaine ouverture à l'occident..
