Photographer’s Note

Cayo Largo Islands are the end of the world. We arrive with this crazy Antonow AN22 on an airport with one hut and two staff. Only a catamaran could be chartered for reaching this island where I captured the pictures. No tourist for miles, no hotels, only one bar and beaches with white sand as long the eye could look.
They told us that this was a German island ... it was a gift for the former German Democratic Republic and with reunification the German abandoned this option ... I think something went wrong.

This is very nice. The solitude of the beach and the centered lifeguard station are very good. The clarity of the picture and the good colours make this image very enjoyable. A beautiful, relaxing place! Nice work Achim.

Hello Achim,
A minimalist composition with great charm. I like the juxtaposition between the different elements and the shadow under the lifeguard platform. Has a very tropical atmosphere about it.

Hi Achim,
It's very inviting to make a (German) joke out of your note but I will oppress it.
Great picture with the abandoned tower and the colourful but empty chairs.

I've heard that the beaches at Cayo Largo were incredible, and here is the proof! Wow, what a place! I like the simplicity of this, with white sand and the blue sky, only broken up by the lifeguard's tower. Great work!

Hi Achim,
the lifeguard outpost standing out that blue sky is amazing and the compo is well balanced by the colored chairs on the left. The 3 different tones of blue are incredibly beautiful and well highlated by the almost white sand. Excellent result delivered!

Achim, j'aime cette photo minimaliste avec cette insolite installation d'un aéroport fantôme. Les points de couleurs faits par les sièges mettent en valeur les couleurs de la mer, du sable et du ciel. J'ai ajouté ce cliché au thème "Minimalist II"

Clean and beautiful image Achim, maybe the "tower" is bit too much centered but light, colors and atmosphere are really good and they invite me to visit this fascinating beach, well done, compliments.

So typical, so blue, so holidays style... but so effective too. A very strong visual impact.
The colored seats (?) are really useful to have contrast and extra graphism.
