Photographer’s Note
I know I know the quality of this picture is not that great but I have to tell this story ...
I shot this picture through the cars front window while driving.
Driving around Cuba I was behind a truck. You have to know in Cuba trucks have to take hitch-hikers who stand at the side of the road after the driver has doing his job.
When they go back home they take people, in this case a young couple. The ride can be looooong and boring.
So what would you do to kill the time? :))
After I took this picture the couple noticed me and laughed and waved out loud.

Hello,
une vue intéressante et bien composée.
Le cadrage et l'idée sont trés bonnes.
J'ai fait un WS pour les couleurs.
Bravo

hi an,
good you posted it, a good te work - the visual and and interesting story behind;
what i like here much is the timelessness of this image therefore i'd think about having it converted into b/w, what you think?

Dag An
Knap verhaal en unieke foto. Gelukkig heb je je fototoestel blijkbaar altijd bij de hand. Kwalitatief iets minder maar voor dergelijke shots nemen we dat er graag bij.

You're soooo right, this picture "talks" alot. Your explanatory note makes it even better.
Seems like an old military truck from this shot.
This picture reminds me that Italian movie, La vita e Bela (La vida es bella) by Roberto Begnini. Same atmosphere, similar colors, similar plot. Very lovely picture, despite being shot thru your car's front window.
Following my comment on the film, I made a simple WS with your shot, giving it a sepia toning.
Love the unplanned symmetry of the couple in the center. Well done!

Dag Anja,

What a great picture from Cuba, its great to see just the faces but not completely
The truck story is nice
The simple presentation and the wide angle make it for me
Its almost obvious to do in this situation

Hi An,
SO, SO, SO Cuban! Fantastic scene, reminds me of some Cuban movies, excellent capture on the fly! (I wonder what Canadians would do in a similar situation ;-)
Wonderful capture, delightful moment, and happy couple! What else does one want for a Wednesday afternoon?

An - What a great story and photo. To heck with any "through the windshield" quality issues. I love it.
