Photographer’s Note
A shot of part of typical breakfast in Costa Rica, eaten in the Central Market of San José, specifically at a place called “Soda Tala” owned by a woman who was friends with the father of Anabelle, the friend who invited me for breakfast.. What you see here is the “enyucado” to the left and a “tortilla” in the front. The enyucado seems to be some yuca (tapioca) dough filled with minced meat and fried. As far as I know, the tortilla was made with precooked corn flour and then fried and covered with salty white cheese. It was simply delicious. I also tried the gallo, a stew made out of potatoes (I think they also have meat and chicken gallo), and later we went for some typical ice-cream at the same market. I was completely full, but it was definitively worth to taste it.
I sharpened the picture and removed a blue-ish hue.

Hi Yvonne,
This breakfast looks delicious. I don't know these two dishes but they are similar to other stuff I grew up eating in Central America.
Very good culinary picture with lots of information regarding the dishes.
Cheers,
Roberto
