I think its great that you decided to crop most of the persons body out. Things like this, I think, give a photo more character.
The only suggestion I have is to eliminate the circular objects on the top left of the photo (what is that anyways?). Do you know how to use photoshop?
Other than that, great photo. Keep posting!

Great shot. The colors are so strong and everything is very sharp. Looks like something out of a glossy travel brochure.
I agree that the rope (?) on the top left is distracting and should be cropped or cloned out. In addition, it seems to me that there's a bit of tilt to the left in both the horizon and the edge of the boat. I might rotate it just a bit to make the lines straight.
Good idea, nice and sharp. I think I would crop the picture in the right side, so the fishing line in the upper right corner is gone, and as "fotofreak" writes it would give the picture more character. Tilt the picture 2-3 degrees left and the geometry will be better. All in all a good photo with a lot of potential, maybe you should make a workshop.
