Photographer’s Note
(From Finca Lomas, Acociacion ANAI, Talamanca)
How strange that I was inspired to enjoy the Australian sub-tropical environment after travelling in Central America a few years ago!
Costa Rica is not about snow-peaked mountains and sunsets over lakes (apart from maybe Cerro Chirripo). But it shines in its bio diversity, unique plant and animal life, beaches and vibrant cultural expression.
My most memorable moments were from the swealtering hot months I spent in the Talamancan lowlands - working in the fields with volunteers from all over the world, birdwatching, taking baths in the creek, cooking in a banana leaf hut and swinging with the vines in the lush jungle environment.
And what's best... Its all here in Australia! Let me tell you, its great to be reminded about the beautiful natural world we live in. I hope that everyone can say the same thing :-)

Hi John, what made me open the thumbnail is, that I have a similar picture of myself from Pangandaran on Java, Indonesia. So, I read your note, and I agree SI with the last sentence, that its' so great to be reminded about the beauty.
I live in an urban environment, but I'm very lucky, I live on the river edge in Rotterdam, and there's almost not a day passing, that I don't realize the beauty of the sky, and the water, and my island. If you check my portfiolio, you will certainly feel what I mean.
