The Volcàn Arenàl is on the biggest and most active of the whole Americas.
We rested some days in the small and nice village of Fortuna Arenal, that is a street with some buildings on the two sides at not more than 3 kilometers from the beinnings of the Volcano! From Fortuna is possible to do wonderful trekking to waterfalls, lake and also on the top of the Arenàl,
We did all apart the climbing to the volcano top, cause every given day, every hour there were many light earthquakes. During the night the bed was a wallaby! And during the night we saw the red and yellow lava went down from the top of the Volcano.
Then after 4 or 5 days, i don’t remember, we travelled north to the Cano Negro on the Nicaraguan border.
One week later, we were on the Lake of Nigaragua, on the Ometepe Island, when we watched on a local tv that the Volcàn Arenàl was exploded and there were injured in the near village of Fortuna. All the area around the volcano was closed for many weeks.
