Photographer's Note
Torteguero, on the northern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, is a small village that is only accessible by boat or plane. Population is roughly 1,200. The beaches are nesting sites for sea turtles, some of which are endangered. You can take a boat tour through Torteguero National Park and/or walk the trails to see a multitude of wildlife including several species of monkeys, jaguars, parrots, toucans, migratory birds and insects including exotic butterflies. Walking around the village, I noticed how many of the houses were brightly painted, giving it a Caribbean feel.
