166- Los gauchiticos, a photo from Guanacaste, West

Photographer's Note

After publishing the post on the rodeo, I couldn't resist sending the photo of these "gauchiticos".
Hacienda Guachipelin where this was taking place, is situated in the middle of nowhere, miles away from the nearest city. So, the children from nearby rally to these shows which become part of their heritage, unfortunately in my opinion.
Anyway, they were so happy when they saw my camera I had to take their photo and honour their cheerfulness by publishing it.

"GAUCHITICOS" : "GAUCHO" is the Latin-American term for "cowboy". Now, the diminutive "gauchito" would be used for kids.
But in Costa-Rica, they have an extra diminutive. Rather than just the suffix "ito", they use "itico". That's why the nickname of the Costa-Ricans is " LOS TICOS".
For French members : People of Costa-Rica prefer to be called "COSTA-RICIENS", rather than "Costa-Ricains" ; it sounds less AmeRICAN ; in Spanish "Costa-Ricenses".

They are very friendly, easy-going people. "Pura Vida" is their moto, meaning that they have a good life and want to keep it.
They did away with their army in 1949 in order to have more money for HEALTH, EDUCATION and ENVIRONMENT.
The death sentence was abolished in 1882 !!! An example for the rest of the world !

C'est vrai que nous sommes presque voisin aujourd'hui et j'ai beaucoup ta photo de ces deux jeunes "gauchiticos". Bien pris ce double portrait, ils semblent heureux de se faire photographier à voir leurs beaux sourires.

Hello,
Children from all over the world are my favorite subject though I don't always post them, but I took many photo of the children. The thing I like about them is, they really give so much joy and when I see them on my computer monitor, they makes me smile always. The innocence, the worry free face, full of wonder, cariosity and life. This one has all I just mention and it also has that pride in their face. Simply a lovely shot, and I'm happy you took the photo and post it here. Thanks.

Reply to your question about the tulips, these tulips be mechanically remove, alone the tulip bol is important in future.
You took a very well portrait, I would work with a fuzzy background, this would better the portrait accentuate.
Excellent colorfully and pleasant for look at.
Sharpness and clarity make these picture pleasant for look at.
Composition and presentation are very well. TFS.

Hi Marie-Louise,

Wonderful portrait of these "gauchiticos". I really like your composition with the two boys at different distances and the vertical format. I note that you have got suggestions about a blurred background. However, this could not be easily be acheived by a open aperture (a small f-stop number) You would risk that one of the boys also had been blurred since they are at different distances. About the only way to acheive a blurred background would have been by editing the photo afterwards. Personally I find the backgound quite OK. In no way distracting. I imagine that you made a perfect choice. Just shooting before the photo opportunity was gone. TFS and have nice weekend!

A well framed scene with good details, expressions are well recorded with good eye-contact...

qué puedo decir sobre esta toma? Pues que es una bonita escena, con los dos jóvenes gauchos, con un doble diminutivo para llamarles gauchiticos, que posan para ti como unos profesionales.
La imagen es simpática, y la foto está bien realizada.
Es un trabajo muy interesante y agradable. La flor del paraíso en el WS es fantástica.

I love the way this two little kids looks, they have a pure in his eyes and I love how wonderful they shows this. I wonder if all the kids in this world has this innocence the worls will be other, if you can have the time to see in the eyes of differnte children you will see this are special and Im so glade you took this picture to show us.
