Photographer's Note

On the outskirts of Puerto Viejo, a small fishing village about an hour by bus south of Limon, lies a black sandy beach (Playa Negra). The crack-heads and some expatriot alcoholic Norte Americanos, who have turned Puerto Viejo into a bit of nightmare after night falls, say that there are "monsters" on the beach when the moon is full.
I suspect that this is one of them.... at high noon!
I found Puerto Viejo charming ...one can get high on the "grass" smoke just walking through town..ha! It ain't in the category (yet) of Bocas (Panama) but it's on the way!
