For who likes filmic pictures (Francis?), here's the beginning for a Midnight Express, burrito revisited, movie... remids me the colors and the mood of "Traffic"...
Only flaw would be the D70 shortcomings on low light... when we see the noiseless performance of the current cameras, the D70 sensor seems almost pre-historic now...

Hi Mark. Yes, salida, or saída in portuguese for those who wouldn't know, and that's the feeling I got from your scene. Don't get what's going on exactly in this place, but just feeling as getting out of there quickly. Nothin to worry about though, nothing particularly gore...just a feeling...

I wrote earlier today to Francis that at times it's difficult to put a finger on why the image does or doesn't have the particular feel, and here is the case, but here I feel it, looks like a place where poeple and things pass back and forth, some fast, some wait a day or two, warm afternoon, stink of sweat in the waiting rooms, works for me.

Stuning shot, Mark, cinematographic, layered, atrmosphere as thick as a triple tamale, and just as spicy hot! I like the placement of SALIDA in there which really nails the shot down, documentary-wise.

An interesting layered image, Mark--it takes a little looking to see all that's of interest. The passive look of the woman at left, the cold institutional feel of the place...a very different atmosphere from my own Costa Rica-Nicaragua border post shot. Regards, Ken.

Very evocative, gritty, it has that late-night-border-crossing-in-Latin-America feel... I really love it.

Hi Mark, this image exudes a fantastic feel. The different layers of the story melt in in perfect mastery, like a wonderfully directed movie. I love the lady's profile on the left, bringing some anxiety to the scene. And the red car on the opposite side, in perfect balance. The 'Salida' sign hanging over the picture, magically brings all the elements together, with brilliant style. Very, very atmostpheric. Very, very effective and dynamic shot, with documentary force. Cheers, --amz
