Photographer’s Note
This is a photo was taken on the way back to the Caye after an all-day snorkel tour aboard the Ragamuffin sailboat. Originally I wanted to dive at the Blue Hole, but found out it was over my budget so the snorkel tour was a compromise. It was definitely worth it. The boat goes out close to the edge of the reef and stops at 4 locations, 2 of which are aquatic nature reserves. It is a great experience, snorkeling around manta rays, jacks, even nurse sharks... lots of corals and aquatic flora too.
This split that you see in the middle of the photo is a trench that was created by a violent hurricane that passed through here. On the left is where all
the people live and at the edge you can see what is a nice outdoor bar. The right side of the island became a nature reserve.
