Late evening at Bathsheba Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a very old but favourite image of mine taken in Barbados on 35mm film with an Olympus OM1 about 20 yrs ago, now scanned and cleaned up with PS.
Barbados is one of the former British colonies in the Caribbean, now a thriving independant country. It is well known for its spectacular beaches. On the west side are the quiet Caribbean ones, while on the east the Atlantic rolls in as here at Bathsheba beach. The night falls quickly and I caught this girl standing wistfully just before night fell.

Goran has done a nice job in his WS of bringing more natural hues to this nice composition but I feel the blue tones are creating a mood of its own. Nice atmosphere captured here.

Nice moody photo John and as Avishek says, the more natural light in the WS is nice but takes away the mood caused by the blue tones.

Not a black & white, but a blue & white one ! ;-)
Excellent, I love the softness of the tones, the silhouette, bringing a romantic mood to the pic.
I can easily understand this is a favourite for you..

I usually dislike pictures with an overall tint of colour. And I dislike even more pictures of landscapes with just one or two persons standing in the foreground. This one makes a double exception. Great job - maybe that's what one calls talent.
