Photographer’s Note
Animal Flower Cave in Northern Barbados
A couple of pics of this have been posted already - such a lovely place I felt one more wouldn't hurt...
Some info on the cave off the web: "The cave’s coral floor is estimated to be 400,000 to 500,000 years old and the “younger” coral section above the floor is about 126,000 years old" - http://www.funbarbados.com/Sights/flowercave.CFM
The cave gets its name from the sea anemone which inhabit the cave floor ... you have to watch your step as you go thru to ensure these aren't inadvertently trodden upon. A lovely day out, and an appreciation of nature at it's most simple, yet breathtaking best.
