Photographer’s Note
The east coast of the Barbados faces the Atlantic Ocean and has a completely different personality than the island's west coast, which faces the Caribbean Sea. The east coast is very rugged and mountainous whereas the west coast is flat and the waters more tranquil. We were told that the waters on the east coast of the island were very dangerous for swimming due to strong undertows.
This view is looking toward the town of Bathsheba. The unusual rock formation you see jutting out of the shoreline is called "Mushroom Rock", if I remember correctly. The area surrounding Bathsheba is also referred to as the "Scottish District". It is named that way because its ruggedness reminded early British settlers of Scotland.

Linda, I was in Barbados in 1979. I would love to go back someday. It was definately a highlight of my vacationing. A very beautiful Island and I enjoyed the people and their fun semi-english accent. Thanks and God's best to you, Tim

A lovely landscape, Linda, which you have composed well. The square format suits this well, otherwise there might have been too much sea. It looks like a very windy day! Cheers . . . David
