[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken near the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort, Delhi, India.

This is Chatta Chowk, the famous throughfare of the city. The Chatta Chowk is a covered street flanked with arched cells that used to house Delhi's most talented jewellers, carpet makers, weavers and goldsmiths. This arcade was also known as the Meena Bazaar, the shopping center for the ladies of the court. It is 268 feet in length and 27 feet in width. In the open courtyard of 200 sq ft, there was a beautiful tank in the center with a strong balcony at its four sides.

It is said that from courtyard upto the Delhi Gate there was a market for officers of low rank. Now one finds only a circular grassy round.

Hello Andrew

A nice capture. You have managed the exposure quite well. The arches are main attraction here. The shops in the darkness look nice. Overall a nice one.

regards
Sayan
