Photographer’s Note
Taken in the Old Quarter of Ha Noi, Viet Nam. The portrait of a hilltribe woman strangely contrasts with Clark Gable & Audrey Hepburn.
If you look closely, you'll see the man copying from the original. I went back to this same spot in 2001, but the man was no-where to be seen, & it didn't look like he'd been there recently. From a scanned print, so sharpness is not that great.

The grainy look works fine for this daily life shot, but maybe a bit more contrast. Anyway, a very fine compo.

I'm glad that you posted it,a great work,Chris.
The man was really a master in his job, portraits of Clark Gable & Audrey Hepburn as familiar portraits in world of movies is strong in this shot,...with this point & with notice to man who is not young, the noisy effect and this quality of pic is very strong point for it.
...and another great thing is a painting in bottom,it's admirable than all,the mother & her chid with a lovely smile.it's a great simbolic-sign of Vietnam in this shot.
Well done,Chris.
I like it alot.

Very nice look into the artist's "studio", Chris. Nice angle to view some of his works, and interesting how the artist himself is the way most colorful element of this composition. A good one for my theme, thanks.

I wish we could be able to see the digitally taken of this perfect shot. How cool and relaxed seems the artist. There is a wonderful peaceful atmosphere around. No need to mention that he is doing his job very well.
Congrats and thanks for sharing.

I like his "arty" outfit, the look of concentration and the pose with the hand tucked behind his knee. Seems to have more talent than many street artists too. Nicely composed shot.

Great composition with a great use of wide angle! I like it very much, the paintings in foreground seem to introduce the painter. I might recognize Michèle Morgan as well? A very, very nice catch. Thanks for sharing Chris.

Hello Chris,
As an artist, I always like to see street artists plying their trade. When I photograph one of them, I like the idea of showing the subject, the artistic creation, and of course the artist himself. Of course, here the subject is represented by the photograph. The composition, perspective, colors and definition are all excellent, all working in concert to produce a compelling image. I like your succint, but engaging note as well — in this excellent image that surfaced in the random order in which you've chose to show your photos. As for Clark Gable and Audrey Hepburn, that is certainly Clark Gable. I don't think it is Audrey Hepburn's portrait hanging next his his. It might be someone now obscure like Yvone de Carlo. But I cannot be sure!
Well done, Chris,
Bulent
