[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a sandy beach of uninhabited island Baydukov in the Sea of Okhotsk.
2 "baydas" (big boats) are landed with 3 speed-boats tied to them.
I placed this photo in a category EVENT, because the actual event happened 4 years later.
I took this picture in 2003 when we were flying in that region conducting a beluga whale aerial survey. This year we came to a nearby island to catch some belugas and deploy satellite tags on them. A fisherman team was helping us. On a rainy evening I was sitting with them showing my aerial photos of their homeland, and when I opened this one, they screamed in one voice excitingly: of course, it appeared to be their boats. The next day I was on board of one of them doing my work.. Oh, those coincidences!...))

The first thing I thought about when seeing the thumbnail was that palm-island they are currently building in Dubai. But this is a bit more uninhabited I'd say. Ir looks like an aerial survey for small boats ;-).
