Photographer’s Note
Fishermen on the south coast of Sri Lanka. This is my final net pulling photo of this group of fishermen.
They are pulling in a sardine filled net. The birds have also taken an interest, and are feeding off some of the sardines. Sri Lanka is still a relatively undeveloped country - a good day's income I was told by one of the fisherman would be about US$10, but a lot by Sri Lankan standards.

Wow, very nice composition. Well done.
...it's a pity that the person on the right is not entirely in the photograph... :)

very nice picture!
I love the wide angle, the guiding line that you have here is great.
But I have to agree that you should have not cut the man in the right.
Well done!

I'm actually not bothered that the guy on the right is cut. To me, it looks like he's pulling so hard on the net that he's leaned right out of the frame. He does look a little dark, though, on my screen. Nice shot!

i've seen this same thing at Kovalam in Kerala state. this is an ideal viewpoint for conveying the action and effort of pulling teh nets. Bloody hard work when they're full of seawater! the birds add a nice element to the shot.

This is very cool, Josh. I like how the line of fishermen bring me into the shot. Again, wonderful B&W image. The cropped guy on the right of the frame does not bother me at all. The flying birds add another touch of interest here. Very well done!

I like this shot Josh. For me, the best part of it is the strong diagonal you have created, I am always a fan of such. The birds are another nice detail too. Perhaps it is just a little contrasty for my tastes, but that is personal taste more than anything. Good shot.

Great POV & composition here. In fact, for me this is an excellent street/daily life image. And B&W works well for these images, I like it a lot!

Josh,
Nice composition. Also I like their facial expressions. The birds and B&W color add the mood too.
