His Playground Photo

Photographer’s Note

This little boy from the Red Dzao tribe was playing in front of his home when I walked by during a trek. It was a cold day, but he was only wearing a jumper and nothing underneath. There was a little fire lit where he was standing but the flame had gone out of it; but even if it was still smoking he just ran through it barefoot.
No fancy toys for these little kids, just their parent’s patch of land, that’s their playground.

The dripping of the water was an improvised irrigation system that was slightly leaking.

toch wel een knappe foto, voor een gescande, hoor. Heb paar jaar geleden eens een scanner gekocht en slaagde er nooit in iets zuiver daaruit te halen...

prettig (zonnig ?) weekend daar in 't zuiden,

Beautiful shot and great note! I think I would have cropped a little off the top and bottom..but all the same, its a beautiful picture with great colours!

Esta foto es muy "cute". :)))
I like the expression on his face a lot. and also I like how the water is trickling down the pipes. It's a very moody image. and I like your depth of field a lot, and basically his playground area. good work. very effective composition.
