Photographer’s Note

Kids at the Jimabaran Beach after a tiring evening beach football. I was there just before the Bali bombing. And I have heard that Bali hasn't been the same since, even though thing are getting back to track slowly.

My hope is that this kids still have their smile on their face....

good one, all this smiley kids. i like your frame and this light (fill in flash ?) even some faces are burned ... one of these kids is a great football player ... he wears the suit of team France !! (haha).
hope these kids still keep their smile too !

Aie, the flash! really regrettable, Bala, those little eyes are bursting at us as if they belonged to the balinese masks we see in the dances on the Islands. that in itself is a great and uncanny touch, I guessed this was from Bali, by association, even before checking the locale.

This is such an uplifting and amusing picture...they all have good eye contact with the camera and endearing teeth!

A real shame about the overflash...though this does not detract from the energy coming from these youngsters...
