Photographer’s Note
Most people who go to the Great Wall from Beijing visit Badaling. While this is an impressive site the Wall at Badaling has been almost completely restored to its former glory.
The trek to Simatai from Beijing is only a little bit further, but in my opinion definitely worth the trip. There has been very little restoration done at Simatai and it is much less crowded. I really enjoyed seeing how well the Wall has held up over the centuries.
I visited both locations and while I prefered Simatai if you have the time and resources then it is worth seeing both.

Always impresive to see the China wall, I like the way you take this view and the foggy atmosphere in the back ground. Thank you (ho, I get without smile, I will be back tomorrow)

Very impressive...from that place you can really feel the magnificence of the Great Wall! Good!

Yes I can see the wall in bad condition here - but still very impressive - your fine angle and POV give us a fine impression of being there - the two people gives a fine extra element - thanks Paul for sharing.

Impressive shot, Paul. Great point of view. I like the way you included the two people on the wall and the way the wall fades into the distance. Well framed.
