A very moving shot, there is something about photos that show people with no shoes as symbolising real poverty. In england, all the homeless peole wear old nike trainers and have quite a few clothes; quite a different poverty to the one this kid faces.
The crop is excellent, catching this crucial detail and making the person anonomous is important here, as is the details of the ground- not even a paved road where we could imagine someone might see the kid...

interesting picture Avis, very moving. very good tight crop, original subject. hard to comment this photo, but it is not 'cold' photography, somehow I see that you put your heart into this frame. good and sensitive work

A sensitive and interesting shot. I like the concept of seeing a part of a person, kind of like a faceless anonymity combined with detailed intimacy. The weathered foot and hand against the rough ground has such an air of hardship.

yup
this one is strong
the feet of a man can tell a lot
especially for the underprivileged who don't have anything to protect their souls and they really tell us about the hard lives led by the people
i tried a few of these myself. will post a scan from a contact sheet in a while as a workshop.. can't find the rest
but will lso give links to 2 other shots..
one by te member olav murillo
and the other by sebastiao salgado :)

Hello Avishek,
your B&W pictures serie are great, a bit difficult to look at beacause I can imagine the hard life conditions of these kids...so sad. It's so moving but your composition is very humble and sentive.
Good, good, good.

I must say from all of your most recent pictures (b&w) this one speaks to me the most. I think b&w works beautifully here and adds seriousness and symbolism to this picture that color would not be able to (IMHO).
