Photographer’s Note

Turtle Island (Ko Tao) is one of the premier diving spots in the Gulf of Thailand. Sai Ri Beach is in the foreground, and looking towards Nang Yuan in the distance on the left.

The lighter coloured vegetation on the hillside in the background are coconut groves.

There is a fishermans bamboo rest in the water behind the longtail boat. Thai fishermen are smart, & only sit in it after sundown.

A ChrisJ classic beachscape. Great view, which the boat completes nicely, though I think a slight improvement here would be for the boat to be conventionally just a bit off-centre.

Yes,I think as Richard,it's a Chris Julesish view/colors/contrast/...and composition:)and I like this kind of your works always,...here I like also the boat,a beautiful traditional/local boat.

Hi CHris, I would join Richard and Mohammad, such photos are a signature from you and as mountain/winter pics from Europe help you stand the Brisbane heat, yours help us support the severe frost we have these days. I like this boat, it reminds me of the ones I was spotting on the Chao Phraya, the water tonal ranges are of course splendid and the hill on the background completes a nice composition.

A nice trpoical beach scene to cheer the spirits on a dull winter morning here. I think the boat works OK being central as the shoreline draws your eye into the shot then round into the distance.

Nous ne sommes pas loin du paradis terrestre (du moins, c'est ainsi que je me l'imagine) !
Un havre de paix avec un environnement plein de sérénité.
J'aime cette eau couleur émeraude et cette superbe barque effilée qui semble fonctionner à l'aide d'un moteur (les Temps modernes facilitent bien les choses).
Très agréable photographie.

Another one of your distinctive beach views, Chris. Good to have the boat as an additional foreground interest, and the colors are as pretty as ever. I think in this particular case you could have tried to clone away the few leaves reaching into the frame at the upper left. Beautiful shot.
