I am sorry Thien, but I don't think this quite measures up to your other stuff. It just looks a little too random for me, and the one person who might be a subject(the woman in polka dots) is not sharp. It also seems a touch crowded to me. I see you were using a WA lens, but I think even wider would be better. Judging against your other stuff Thien, I am sorry, but for me this falls short. I do however appreciate as a subject an open air market in VN, and I certainly look forward to seeing something similar from you.

this shot takes me there, narrow walk way and fresh foods. I can almost smell it, great!
I'd like to play with it's levels as I think there is great depth here but don't want to lose the shade cloth & bright sun.

Hi Thien. I'm sorry to agree with Darren here. You say you have no clue where to look for. Well, my technical brain looks for geometrical patterns - like the circular hat and bowls of fish. Crop the rest away and you have a sirwilliam photo. Others look at the people - this woman reading a newspaper while selling is a really nice subject. Or you can search a story or a message ( like: this street is cramped and very narrow) and compose something of this. But this photo, the eye doesn't have a restpoint, a moving direction etc. Sorry for the :-|

Well, maybe it's not a perfect photo, technically speaking, but to me it's a perfect shot to show a busy market in VN. I've noticed that except for one woman, every other one on this shot we don't see their face and it doen't bother me at all, on the contrary I would call it "incognito". That what happens often when you are in a crowd and maybe that's one would want after what VN went through. I like the real life feeling of that shot. A+

I'm sure RGB is not easiest way for wide angle market shots : you set up yourself some challenge here trying to control both people and color.
I think there are both positive and negative ends in your image. The bottom is fine for me, you managed to find a geometry of circles, with the hat and the plates, unfortunately the profusion of colors ruins the effect. A good reason for switching to BW.
Then there's the upper part. Let's say I just hate that ubuquitous blue and white striped plastic roof. It has ruined so many of my shots, it takes both light and colors away and give you back dull and cyan cast.
(In Singapore, I'm sure you get death penalty for displaying such in a market.)
On top of that, a bit of a mess in the upper part, hard to read anything.
That's another reason to focus only on the bottom part, in BW will you please...
Overall, throw off the hats, it reminds me more of some M'sian markets than say the lush and crowdness of Cholon.

Thien, I would have waited for polka dots to get out the picture, and then just take a pic of the fish and round hat lady... makes a super pic on its own.. too many other distracting things in the pic.

I felt I just walked thru this market with the polka dot lady, and it is intersting, not the USA...... for sure!
